There is no science behind the philosophy of a bad attitude.  I would bet that often times the people with the bad attitude don’t even realize what is the source of their anger.

Money and relationships are the two biggest factors into a bad attitude.  Others are family, stress from work, co-workers, friends and other contributing factors. I say others because it simply doesn’t matter what the case may be.

SOME PEOPLE: DEAL/COPE With Stress

SOME PEOPLE: SHARE Stress

The WORST thing a person can do is absorb a bad attitude personally.  That old saying “Leave your baggage at the door” doesn’t always work.  I can even say there have been times where life is so overwhelming that its hard to implement that.  However, just because someone is in a bad attitude and expressing this behavior towards you, doesn’t give you the right to take that burden!

Being in a sales position, there is nothing more crippling than being “off” by a bad attitude whether it be your own or adopted from a co-worker or even boss.  Selling is psychological and clients (just as canines) can pick up on your behavior and attitude within the first 10-30 seconds…(just as you are trying to build rapport and configuring the right sales tack based on their behavior).

SO WHAT DO WE DO?

Keeping a bad attitude in your circle will slowly kill your own attitude.  It will kill the attitude of you, your co-workers and will straggle home into your own life.  Its a disease and it should be treated such as that.

From an owners standpoint, they simply can’t always stay aware of these types of situations.  A poor boss will let this go and allow this disease to spread throughout the office, where a great boss will handle this accordingly before the spreading begins.

The bad attitude starts from personal issues or work issues, and the goal of the bad attitude is to spread.  No bad attitude likes to see others prosper or excel.  Bad attitudes thrive off of other bad attitudes.

If there is a bad attitude in the office? Nip it immediately.  If you have staff members complaining, its a sign that its an issue.

Don’t allow a bad attitude go unnoticed or untreated. Treat the bad attitude as though it is an outbreak and continue on.  A bad attitude= demise. Demise of surrounding attitudes, surrounding professional and the betterment of your agency.

DONT LET YOUR AGENCY TURN TOXIC.
